Partner With Rectitude to Meet Critical Compliance Frameworks
We understand that compliance is an ongoing process, not a “set it and forget it” exercise. Our experience with helping clients find gaps in their compliance and in preparation for audits includes work with:
-
Healthcare practices and associated businesses following HIPAA regulations.
-
Organizations handling credit card payments that must adhere to PCI DSS standards.
-
Government or defense contractors that are required to comply with CMMC frameworks.
-
Other companies that follow the NIST Cybersecurity Framework to obtain cybersecurity insurance and reinforce protection against cyber threats.
Cybersecurity Needs by Industry: Healthcare, Entertainment Venues and Convention Centers
Healthcare practices, large entertainment venues and convention centers each carry a distinct cybersecurity risk profile. Rectitude’s Texas-based engineering team builds network security and monitoring around the specific pressure points of each vertical.
| Vertical | Primary Cybersecurity Risk | Compliance Drivers | Uptime Sensitivity | Rectitude Focus Areas |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Healthcare Practice | Patient health information (PHI) exposure and ransomware targeting connected medical devices and EHR systems | HIPAA and state breach notification requirements | High, clinical staff need EHR and device access throughout patient care hours | HIPAA-aligned network segmentation, SOC monitoring, backup and disaster recovery planning for patient records |
| Large Entertainment Venue | High-density guest Wi-Fi combined with point-of-sale, ticketing and access control systems that cannot go down mid-event | PCI DSS for payment processing | Extremely high, a sold-out event cannot tolerate a network outage | Network design for high-density device loads, segmented guest and operational networks, NOC monitoring |
| Convention Center | Temporary exhibitor networks, multi-tenant Wi-Fi access and third-party vendor systems connecting and disconnecting throughout an event cycle | Varies by event and tenant contract, often includes PCI DSS | High, multiple tenants and exhibitors load the network simultaneously | Rapid network provisioning and teardown, VLAN segmentation between exhibitors, DNS, DHCP and IP management through CIaaS |
Healthcare practices carry a cybersecurity risk profile centered on protecting patient health information from ransomware and unauthorized access while medical devices and electronic health record systems stay connected to the network. Rectitude addresses this exposure with HIPAA-aligned network segmentation, continuous security monitoring and backup and disaster recovery planning built around clinic uptime.
Large entertainment venues face a cybersecurity risk profile built around thousands of guest devices connecting to Wi-Fi at once alongside point-of-sale, ticketing and access control systems that cannot go offline mid-event. Our team addresses these needs through network design engineered for high-density device loads, segmented guest and operational networks and NOC monitoring shaped by experience supporting large public venues.
Convention centers carry a cybersecurity risk profile shaped by temporary exhibitor networks, multi-tenant Wi-Fi access and third-party vendor systems that connect and disconnect throughout a single event cycle.
Our large venue services include rapid network provisioning and teardown, VLAN segmentation between exhibitors and DNS, DHCP and IP management delivered through our critical infrastructure as a service (CIaaS) offering.
Basic Antivirus vs. Managed Cybersecurity: What Is the Difference?
Antivirus software protects a single device by scanning files against a database of known malware signatures and blocking anything that matches. This approach works only after a threat has already been identified and cataloged elsewhere, which means new or modified malware can slip past antivirus undetected until the software's definitions are updated. Antivirus also has no visibility beyond the device it runs on, so it cannot see how a threat might be moving across a network, a server or a connected system.
Managed cybersecurity through a SOC (security operations center) takes a proactive approach instead, actively hunting for suspicious activity across an entire network before a threat has the chance to execute. Rectitude's SOC monitoring analyzes behavior across every connected device, server and firewall, looking for the early signs of an intrusion, such as unusual login patterns or lateral movement between systems, rather than waiting for a known malware signature to trigger an alert. This network-wide, behavior-based approach catches threats that antivirus alone is not built to see.
